CCTV to stop Pets Corner slaughter from happening again
14 JuneCrime-busting CCTV cameras will help protect the animals in Pets Corner from more attacks by vicious thugs.
Inverclyde Council has confirmed that it will pay for the cameras to be fitted at the popular children's zoo.
We were all sickened last week when six of Pets Corner's animals were killed in a cruel and mindless attack by vandals. It's thought they were beaten with a golf club and had a large dog set on them.
Twelve more animals are now missing after the raid and haven't yet been recovered. Fortunately, kids' favourite Sally the Duck survived her injuries.
Locals have show their outrage with a Facebook page Justice For Gourock Park which already has more than 2000 fans, and a well-attended vigil on Sunday. The youngest attendee was only a few weeks old and the eldest was an 81 year old man.
Good for the Council for agreeing to the cameras.
