Take the plunge for charity in Gourock's Boxing Day dip

Will you dare to take the plunge in Gourock, and get in the chilly waters of Lunderston Bay help to raise money for a great cause in one of the town’s biggest fundraising events of the year?

This dip in aid of CLIC Sargent first took place in 2009 and raised £7,000 in its first year and this time its back bigger and better than ever.

Three local youngsters are backing the dip as a Thank You to CLIC Sargent for supporting their family through their sister Sarah’s battle with cancer; sadly Sarah lost her battle in 2009. Lewis (16), Jamie (14) and Allyson Wade (12) are asking for everyone to get registered for the dip and help support CLIC Sargent

The dip takes place at Lunderston Bay on Boxing Day at 2pm. There is no registration fee to take part but we do ask that everyone tries their best to raise a minimum of £100 each for CLIC Sargent. Fancy dress is encouraged and there is a fantastic prize for the best fancy dress costume

Each dipper will get a goody bag and for those not in fancy dress you will receive a CLIC Sargent Tshirt
